CTAL-TA v4.0 is the latest released version of the ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Analyst certification. Anyone who has been studying for CTAL-TA v3.1 can write the exam until the sunset dates (the 16th of May 2026 for English, 16th of November 2026 for non-English).

The ISTQB® Advanced Level Test Analyst certification builds on the Foundation Level to deepen your knowledge of structured software testing. Exam Structure

Candidates qualify for extra time if they are not writing the exam in their native language. Extra time needs to be applied for upon completing the exam registration form.

Exam Entry Criteria

To be eligible for the ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst exam, candidates should have passed an ISTQB Foundation exam and should hold an ISTQB Foundation certificate.

18 Months of practical software testing or IT experience is recommended but not required.
