Qualifying Criteria
What Makes an Outstanding Software Tester in 2025?
The global software testing industry has evolved — and so have the standards of excellence. A great tester today is more than just someone who executes test cases. They are quality engineers who combine technical expertise, critical thinking, and strong communication to deliver real business value.
Nominees will be evaluated across seven core competency areas:
• Core Testing Knowledge
• Technical Proficiency
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
• Communication & Collaboration
• Mindset & attitude
• Domain & Business Knowledge
Award Submission
Submissions for the 2025 Excellence Awards open on 15 October 2025 and close on 31 December 2025.
You can submit your nomination directly through the official Awards Nomination Form on the TEST-IT Africa website. Each submission must include:
• Complete nomination form
• Supporting documentation (e.g., CVs, bios, professional achievements, or case studies)
• Motivation/evidence of impact or innovation related to the category
Late entries will not be accepted, so be sure to submit before the deadline!
Nomination Process
Who can submit a nomination?
• Nominations may be submitted by any individual or organisation — except members of the Award Panel.
• Nominees can be individuals, teams, institutions, companies, or organisations that have demonstrated excellence in software testing.
• Anonymous or self-nominations will not be accepted.
• All nominations must be submitted via the official Awards Nomination Form before 31 December 2025.
• Each submission will be reviewed by a panel of industry experts based on the published qualifying criteria.
• Shortlisted candidates will be contacted in early 2026 for the final evaluation phase.
